Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Last night we camped at Maple Grove Hot Springs (Idaho). This is an easy hour trip from Logan and a good practice camping trip with Seth. It is right along the Bear River, near the Oneida Narrows. Very pretty spot. This morning I got up and ran Oneida Narrows Rd, a nice dirt road that follows the river. It is rolling terrain, but nothing too steep or too long (predictably, since it follows a river). Did 14.5 miles and averaged 6:57/mile. Followed up the run with a good soak.

How did Seth do camping?

He did well, much better than Gil.

You took Gil? That's just asking for trouble... though I imagine it keeps the squirrels away.

The problem is that EVERYONE had dogs there. And NO ONE (except us) believes in leashing/securing their dogs. Gil is a total alpha-male and goes nuts when there's other dogs around.

You stuff is on your porch, in the jogging stroller. You better get it before some random stalker reads this post and steals it from your house.

Thanks.

That is a pretty spot. One of my favorite mountain biking loops takes me down through that 14 mile stretch along the reservoir and river. I've often thought that would be a nice spot for a morning run.
