Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Bolder Boulder. Had a beautiful morning (upper 40s for temps, no wind), but did not have a good race. First 2 miles were fine, but the rest was a slog, and kind of bagged it by the end. I guess 1st time is the charm for Bolder Boulder, since my 2013 race was pretty good, and the last two have been pretty bad.

Ended up 36th overall. The low point of the race was when it took me 4 miles to catch up to a guy wearing a red Power Rangers costume, and then I could never really shake him...kept hearing people cheer for the Power Rangers guy, which is demoralizing.  About the only thing that kept me going to making sure I didn't lose to him...I decided I would just quit running if that happened, and part of me hoped that it would.

Another guy dressed as a hot dog also did quite well, but did not give me a run for the money like the Power Rangers guy.

Oh well. Next race.
