Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

There was a light layer of snow this morning, but nothing my NB 790s couldn't cut through. Decently warm too, although I don't know that it was enough to clean the air out. I ran up Smithfield Canyon and back. Averaged 6:58/mile.

Amy is interviewing in Logan today. DON'T DRIVE! The air must be clear.

She called two minutes before the interview to say how beautiful Logan was this morning.

Hopefully they will take her to Cafe Rio for lunch.

She must have been joking. The air is much cleaner today than other days, but visibility is still very poor. I'll try not to let my car idle out in front of Walmart for more than 10 minutes.

I think she is comparing Logan to here. When we get a great day I can see the mountains. On a bad day I can only see as far as the nuclear power plant.

I think Cafe Rio is for dinner tonight.

Hi Paul. I ran across a journal article about a scientific study on the genetics of AS. Thought you might be interested. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20062062?dopt=Abstract Not sure if you can get the full text of the article. The basic idea behind it is that they found some genes that are associated with immune response that they believe give some people a genetic predisposition to AS. If that's true, they may eventually be able to use that information to come up with better treatments.

Yeah, I think I've seen the synopsis of that study, or at least a similar one. Researchers seem to learn new things everyday, and I agree that this will hopefully lead to better screening and treatments.
