Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Ran to the gym and 50 minutes on the elliptical, with a 10x3-minute interval workout (1 minute rest). My heart rate got up to 177-178 by the end, which is about 90% of my max. So I'll deem it a worthwhile workout. The workout went by fast because I watched Super Bowl highlights and analysis on Sports Center the whole time. What a great game! I wanted the Cardinals to win, but still enjoyed watching Pittsburgh run the 2-minute drill perfectly. Seth didn't like all the yelling of a Super Bowl party, though, as it frequently woke him up from naps. Stacy and I don't like loud noises, and therefore never yell, so Seth hadn't heard a good football bellow until now.

After the elliptical I did 1x60 @ 100 lbs on the hip sled, then ran home.

Being a Cardinal fan I was just happy that they made it. They have such talent, but it seems like they always lose games within the last 5 minutes - like some kind of a curse. This year has been different, so I had high hopes. When Fitzgerald scored that touchdown with 3 minutes to play I knew there was too much time left on the clock. :(

From Jon on Mon, Feb 02, 2009 at 17:09:14

Yeah, I was rooting for the Cards but enjoyed a great game, regardless. There was a lot of cheering, yelling, clapping, etc at our place, too.

Indeed, Fitzgerald scored way too fast. Can't be helped, I suppose. I thought Warner was robbed at the end; I thought it was a forward pass, but they wouldn't even give it a proper review. I'd give a hail mary to Fitzgerlad in the end zone a better than 50-50 chance. I've never seen him get out-jumped, or not come down with the ball. Oh well.

From Jon on Mon, Feb 02, 2009 at 17:26:20

Exactly. Can you imagine a Super Bowl ending on a hail mary? That would be classic.

By the way, it's Pizza day today at PF- you coming for an afternoon session?

From paul on Mon, Feb 02, 2009 at 17:29:50

Not unless the pizza is made with almond flour. I was in pain for a week after eating pizza at Cody's moving party. Never again.

So you've decided starch is definitely bad, huh?

Yes.
