Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Wow. Just wow, last night.

You betcha

Where did you go? As one of the two Cyber Boltons on the blog, you can't leave! Are you not running, or leaving/taking a break from FRB?

I remember 10 years ago how it was possible to comment on every new FRB-er. Just looked, and it's possible again, as there are only 2 or so joining per week.

From Paul on Thu, Feb 16, 2017 at 09:26:45 from 50.203.178.38

Hi Jon. Yeah, I'm pretty much done with the FRB, and am now tracking mileage using Garmin Connect. Just don't have the passion to write about running, or read about it either, and Garmin Connect is really easy (I have a Vivosmart HR+, so it uploads my runs automatically). So you can find me there.

So yeah, I think the blog is pretty much dead. Most of us that started back in 2005-2007 or so, and were really really super into it, have since moved on, and are busy with things in life not related to running! :-) That, and blogging is a lost art, and no one has the patience for it any more...everything has moved to social media...get it done with 140 characters or less.

Hope all is well.

From Jon on Thu, Feb 16, 2017 at 11:24:45 from 104.129.204.81

I'm one week away from my 10 year FRB anniversary, so I can't stop yet.

I never wear GPS so am still tracking mine old school via FRB, though I really don't write much (everything is now exclusively for my own rememberance). It's interesting how being 10 years further in life removes so much discretionary time.

I imagine this is our last contact, then, unless you visit SC or have another Runners World article. It was a great pleasure to know you and run with you for so many years, and I wish you and your family the best. You're a great guy- good luck wherever you roam.

Time is like gold...I have no regrets with my running and a lot of awesome experiences. I still tell everyone about my crazy ultra-running friends, crewing for Rocky Raccoon, etc. Great stuff. But my mind and heart (and body) have moved on.

Let me know if you're ever in the FoCo area. I'm easy to contact on Facebook, and frankly this blog as well, since all comments go straight to Gmail

Cheers,

Paul, you just bummed me out... totally.

I'll never to be able to tell my runners, "You think that's awesome? Go check out a guy named Paul Peterson on the blog!" And follow it up with some legendary story of you.

Enjoy all that is good in life!

Hey, the blog is still up! You just have to refer to me in the past tense.

I remember when blogging was cool. And commenting on a speedster's blog when I had no business doing it made me feel so alive.

From Holt on Thu, Feb 16, 2017 at 18:34:25 from 71.37.86.68

Burt, I remember when you were the life of the party!

From Burt on Thu, Feb 16, 2017 at 18:38:22 from 70.176.85.97

Not so much anymore. And I'm all right with that.

From Jason D on Sun, Feb 19, 2017 at 21:51:09 from 24.127.111.174

Best wishes, Paul. You were a reason I came to the blog, and I have learned much from you and been inspired since.

From Burt on Mon, Apr 17, 2017 at 10:38:01 from 70.176.85.97

One thing you can always say is that you were once the 3rd American in Boston. Jared Ward was only the 6th American today.

From Paul on Mon, Apr 17, 2017 at 10:40:21 from 50.203.178.38

...although Jared Ward earned a lot more money for 10th overall.

Past race reports are a treasure - just came here to read Paul's Mini Indy 500 reports from the past year - Benjamin and I are running it tomorrow.
